A Blankie Fixes Everything

Today Karina and I were watching the cute movie "Madagascar" and there's a point in the movie where one of the baby lemurs starts crying really loud. Karina looks at me with this sad look on her face and says, "oh mommy the baby one is sad" and I said, "why is he crying?" and she said, "he needs his blankie then he ok". And yes, for Karina, the blankie fixes everything :)

Princess Night At The Vargas Palace

Apparently there are two princesses that live at the Vargas Palace! Karina loves wearing her "pretty dresses" and this night she wanted Yo-Yo to wear the pretty dress! :)

Two Princesses

The Incredible Hulk-arina

Ok I haven't posted for a while because our camera broke and we had to send it out to get it fixed.
So the other day, Karina kept pleading, "mommy, paint, please?" I said ok. I had some work to do on the computer so I thought, "ok that will keep her busy so I can get some work done." So I set up all her stuff on the kitchen floor and stripped her down to her undies so she wouldn't get her clothes all dirty. So I go into the laundry room where our computer is and which is also right off of the kitchen and proceed to do my work. Every once in a while I'd call out, "are you doing ok Karina?" and each time her response was "uh huh". So she had been painting for probably 10 to 15 minutes and I went into the kitchen and found this....

Viva el Juego!!

A couple of weeks ago Abel and a couple of his friends, Josh and Pablo got to go to a Major League Soccer game for the Chicago Fire. Abel sells life insurance on the side and one of the companies that he uses (Federal Life) gave him free tickets to go to the game and be in their skybox (sweet). So the guys got there early and were up in the sky box when one of the ladies from Federal Life asked Abel if he wanted to go down to the field and do the coin toss. Federal Life was the sponsor for the soccer game that night and so the girl who was supposed to do it was running late and couldn't do it. So Abel got the privilege of doing the coin toss! He got to meet Cuauhtemoc Blanco, one of the most famous soccer players who now plays for the Chicago Fire (in red on the right). Pretty sweet deal! They had a great time!

Good Friends, Good Times

So last week we had some really good friends come to visit. Danette and her two boys, Jacob and Parker from El Paso, TX and Danette's mom Doris. Danette and the boys were visiting family in Indiana so we asked if they'd wanna come and hang out at our house for an afternoon. So mom and Donneta and Luke, Kolton and Alli all came up for the day too. We had a great time chatting and catching up while the kids all played in the back yard and in the pool.
